The father of the late Albert Ojwang launched a bitter attack on the government, demanding accountability following the release of autopsy results that revealed his son died from torture while in police custody.
In an emotional address to the press, Meshack Ojwang recounted how officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) came to his home in Homa Bay to arrest his son.
“Naibu Mkuu wa Polisi Bwana Eliud Lagat, wewe ndiwe uliyetuma watu wako, maDCI, waje wachukue mwanangu ili wamlete Nairobi,” he said.
Meshack said he complied and handed over his son to the authorities, trusting the process would be lawful.
